Majors & L1/L2 Assets
Major crypto prices
Pricing BTC is not the hard part. The value of majors coverage is that it completes the catalog: the same on-chain pool aggregation that prices your LSTs plus yield-bearing collateral also prices BTC, ETH, SOL. One methodology, one data contract, across everything you hold.
Coverage
Deep-dive example: the BTC/USD feed page shows how bitcoin's on-chain market rate is built from 84 pools across 11 chains.
The majors, against each other
The most watched number in this category is not a dollar price at all: it is what one major fetches in another. Most sites compute that ratio from two dollar quotes. Here it comes from the pools where the two assets trade against each other directly, one book, one reading.
Majors FAQ
Why use DEX-based prices for BTC or ETH?
For majors the reason is consistency, not necessity. If your risk system prices wstETH, sUSDe plus JLP from on-chain pools, pricing ETH from a different universe introduces a methodological seam exactly where your ratios matter. One methodology across the whole book: ETH/USD alone aggregates 193 active pools.
We already take CEX market data. Why add a DEX-native feed?
As a complement, not a replacement. A DEX-native rate is an independent second view on the same asset: computed from different venues, with different failure modes, in the market where on-chain positions actually settle. Teams use it to cross-check their exchange feeds, catch venue-specific anomalies early plus price the on-chain side of the book with the same methodology as their long-tail assets.
Which majors does ML Data cover?
76 pairs across 21 assets: BTC, ETH, SOL plus the other majors, newer entrants such as SUI plus HYPE, the wrapped native forms (WETH, WSOL, WBNB among them), with an on-chain EUR/USD cross alongside. The full list lives on this page plus the catalog.
