DeFi token prices
Some tokens live entirely on-chain: JLP has no centralized listing at all. ML Data prices 59 pairs across DeFi-native tokens from their real markets, with the same pool aggregation plus outlier filtering as the rest of the catalog.
The tokens whose entire market is on-chain
This category is the purest case for pool-derived pricing. JLP is a share in Jupiter's liquidity pool: there is nothing to list on a centralized exchange, yet it sits as collateral across Solana money markets. AMPL rebases, so a naive ticker mixes supply changes into the price. stS plus KTA are chain-native tokens that never had an off-chain market to begin with.
For assets like these, reading the pools is not a methodological preference. It is the only way a feed-grade rate can exist at all. The same aggregation, depth floors plus outlier filtering used across the catalog apply here unchanged, which is exactly what makes these rates usable as collateral marks.
Inside the flagship: JLP/USD
Composition as observed on 2026-10-27: 5 active pools, all on Solana where JLP lives, selected from a wider evaluated set.
Every pool clears depth floors before it can influence the published rate; evaluated pools outside the composition do not currently qualify.
DeFi token FAQ
Why price DeFi tokens from DEX pools instead of exchange listings?
Tokens like JLP do not trade on centralized exchanges at all: JLP is a Jupiter liquidity pool token that exists only on-chain. Others like GMX or OHM have their deepest markets in DEX pools. Pricing them from their real venues is what makes the number a market rate.
Which DeFi tokens does ML Data cover?
Thirty-two pairs across JLP, GMX, MKR, OHM, FXS, AMPL, KTA plus stS, quoted against USD, the major stablecoins plus ETH. Coverage requests for additional tokens are a normal part of onboarding.
Why does JLP need a market-rate feed if the protocol publishes a pool value?
A pool-share token has an intrinsic value, what the pool contents are worth per share, plus a market rate, what buyers actually pay for the share in the pools where it trades. Money markets that accept JLP as collateral liquidate at the market rate. The gap between the two is real information, but only if both numbers are measured properly.
What makes tokens like AMPL hard to price?
AMPL rebases: wallet balances change while the target price stays fixed, so a naive ticker mixes supply moves with price moves. A pool-derived rate reads the actual exchange ratio in the pools at a block, which is the number a settlement or risk system can safely act on.
