SOL ratio board

Solana's staking tokens are usually read against SOL. Increasingly they are traded against each other instead, which makes the shape of this market worth showing in one place rather than one page at a time.

One token became the reference

On Ethereum the staked tokens are measured against ether and mostly leave it there. Solana went a different way. Several of its staking tokens now trade with another staking token on the other side of the pool, so the market quotes them against a peer rather than against SOL itself.

That is a quiet piece of market structure with practical consequences. A cross between two staking tokens nets out most of the SOL exposure and leaves the difference between two reward schedules, which is a cleaner comparison than either token against SOL. It also means the deepest route to a price for some of these tokens does not pass through SOL at all.

Why the rows climb

Every row here belongs to the accruing family. The token count in a wallet stays put while the stake behind each token grows, so the ratio starts near one and rises for as long as validators earn. A higher rate is age rather than advantage: it says the token has been accumulating longer, not that it is a better holding.

Every rate on this board is a market observation. Each protocol also publishes its own exchange rate on-chain; the two answer different questions. That distinction has its own home on the ETH ratio board, where the split shows up most often.

Priced in SOL

SOL is not only the asset being staked here. On its own chain it also works as a quote currency, so assets with no Solana origin trade against it directly. Wrapped bitcoin sits at the deep end of that group, ahead of the dollars.

Ratio board FAQ

What does a staked SOL to SOL rate mean?

It is how much SOL one unit of a staked token fetches in the pools trading it right now. Solana staking tokens hold their unit count steady while the stake behind each unit grows, so the ratio starts near one at launch and rises from there. The number is a market observation rather than a figure published by the staking protocol.

Why do these rates sit above one?

Because the rewards accumulate inside the token instead of arriving as extra tokens. A holder ends the month with the same balance and a larger claim, which shows up as a higher ratio. An older token has absorbed more of that accumulation, so a higher rate reads as seniority rather than as a premium.

Why are some tokens measured against jitoSOL instead of SOL?

Because that is where their liquidity chose to sit. Pools pair a staked token with whatever is deepest on the other side. On Solana that has increasingly been another staked token rather than plain SOL. The board reports those crosses as they are traded rather than converting them through SOL first.

Why is bitcoin on this board?

SOL works as a quote currency on its own chain, so several assets that are not Solana native trade against it directly. The deepest SOL-quoted book in our catalog belongs to a wrapped bitcoin. Those pairs are priced from their own pools here rather than derived from two dollar quotes.
