USDG/USD price feed
USDG is the Global Dollar, a stablecoin issued by Paxos and distributed through a network of major platforms. Its design pushes the token into more than one ecosystem at once, which shapes how its price has to be read.

What USDG is
USDG is a reserve-backed dollar stablecoin issued by Paxos, with reserves the issuer reports publicly. So the first question people ask about it has a plain answer: yes, it is a stablecoin, designed to hold one dollar, redeemable through its issuer.
The second question is how it differs from other reserve dollars, which deserves a neutral answer: the difference is distribution. USDG launched around a consortium of partner platforms, names such as Kraken plus Robinhood among them, that carry the token to users through venues they already use. That is a statement about how the dollar travels, not about which dollar is better.
For the feed, the label matters less than the market. However a stablecoin is distributed, USDG trades on-chain in size, which means its price can be computed rather than asserted. The rest of this page is that computation, stated in the open.
One dollar, two home markets
Most assets in the catalog have a home chain plus satellites. USDG was issued into more than one ecosystem from the start, Ethereum along with Solana, each with its own venues, its own participants, its own fee regime. Neither deployment is a copy of the other; each prices the dollar with its own infrastructure.
The quote side has been a mix of dollar tokens, with other legs drifting in and out of the active book as pools qualify. Reading the rate mostly means reading dollar claims priced against each other, resolved at one block.
A dollar living in more than one ecosystem gets a property worth naming: wherever both deployments carry active pools, the same dollar is priced by different infrastructure, different participants, different fee regimes. Agreement across those books is a cross-check that comes free with the structure.
A deep book, read properly
Here the specs are the story: USDG's book has run deep for its age, the kind of market where the marginal trade stays small relative to standing depth, so the number tends to sit quiet.
Depth changes what a feed is for. A thin book needs a feed to establish what the price even is; a deep book needs one to prove it. A treasury marking a large USDG position can point at the per-side depth behind the mark, at the pools it came from, at the block it was computed on.
That proof reads the same on both home markets: an Ethereum balance and a Solana balance mark against one number.

Platforms settling USDG
Venues that accept or pay out USDG can mark flows against the rate its own pools pay, per chain, per block.
Multi-chain dollar treasuries
A position split across ecosystems reports as one number; this feed computes that number from every qualifying venue at once.
Risk desks watching stablecoin liquidity
Per-side depth shows where an exit would land before it happens; deep books deserve the same scrutiny as thin ones.
